Rafaelle Lorgeril

Rafaelle Lorgeril approaches photography as a space where reality becomes malleable. She works extensively with blur, texture, and colour grading to shift the viewer’s perception, drawing them into a sensitive in-between that sits somewhere between the real and the imagined. Her portraits and self-portraits prioritise feeling over likeness, capturing emotional states that resist straightforward description. Landscapes also function as carriers of mood and memory within her practice.

Rafaelle began collaborating with Nikon in 2022 and works with cameras from the Nikon Z series, notably the Nikon Z 6II and the Nikon Z 8, both of which provide the technical precision her process requires. Her go-to lens is the NIKKOR Z 24–70mm f/4 S, valued for its versatility across expansive environmental framing, close portraiture, and video work. For Rafaelle, reliable equipment is a necessity when the image she pursues is as elusive as an emotion.
