Finnish wedding photographer Minna Kaita has spent the past decade behind the lens, with the last six years devoted entirely to refining a deeply personal approach to wedding and couples photography.

The photos I care about most capture something real. Not perfection, but that special something you can feel the moment you see it.

I love the Nikon colours and that crispiness. My Z8 is a workhorse I trust completely. It has not let me down once.

Minna's philosophy is rooted in empathy. She believes that photographing people well demands genuine kindness, social awareness, and the ability to hold space for vulnerability, because being in front of a camera is an intimate act. This human-first approach shapes everything from how she moves through a wedding day to the split-second decisions she makes about focal length and framing. Her introduction to Nikon came in 2023 through an invitation to a Nikon event, though she had long been drawn to the colour rendering Nikon cameras are known for. Now shooting with both the Nikon Z8 and the Nikon Zf, she describes her kit as tools that simply deliver. The Nikon Z8 serves as her primary workhorse, paired most often with the Nikkor Z 24-70mm f/2.8, a lens that converted a self-described prime shooter into a zoom believer. The flexibility of that focal range suits her fast-moving, storytelling-driven pace perfectly. The Nikkor Z 35mm f/1.2 S and Nikkor Z 85mm f/1.2 round out a set of lenses she reaches for when the moment calls for something more intimate or cinematic.
