Lucy Hamidzadeh

Lucy's relationship with photography has always been guided by curiosity — a genuine fascination with people, the lives unfolding around her, and the stories that images can hold without ever fully resolving. Her book Unfinished Stories grew directly from this philosophy: the belief that the most powerful photographs are often those that leave room for imagination, where context is missing and meaning remains open.

Her journey with Nikon began with a compact COOLPIX camera, a first spark she did not fully recognize at the time. It was followed by a Nikon D3100, a camera that taught her to slow down, observe more carefully, and look for the stories embedded in ordinary moments. Photography runs in her family: her grandfather documented family life on film and with a cine camera for years, making Nikon's heritage feel like a natural fit. The invitation to participate in the global launch of the Nikon Zf brought that journey full circle in a way that remains deeply meaningful to her.

Today, Lucy works with the Nikon Zf, Nikon Z6 III, and Nikon Z8, and she favors prime lenses — the NIKKOR Z 35mm f/1.4, the NIKKOR Z 50mm f/1.2 S, and the NIKKOR Z 85mm f/1.8 — each chosen for their sharpness, character, and low-light capability that keep her connected to the creative process rather than the mechanics of it.
